This Old House TV uses ZipWall Dust Barrier System in Newton, MA home renovation

Bill and Gillian Pierce are fans of the ZipWall Dust Barrier System used by This Old House during their renovation.
“The crew of This Old House is doing a major renovation at our place, a 1915 Dutch Colonial. There’s a new mess every day—debris from demolition, plenty of sawdust, chunks of gypsum from the blueboard, damp waves of dust from the plasterers. Maybe we should have moved out! But instead of paying for months in a rental, we wanted to stay in the house with our two young children and dog. And we’re doing fine -- in part because of the ZipWalls that Tom and his builders set up between the old and new sections. We’re grateful for the dust barrier and for the ZipWalls’ flexibility. In the evening, after the dust clears on the far side, we sometimes move the quick-release supports and get a glimpse of how the house will work when everything’s done. Then it’s easy to move the wall back in place, so that in the morning, before we’re awake, the crew can start in without covering us in dust.”

The ZipWall® Dust Barrier System is normally used vertically, but Matt Sherk, of Sherk Custom Hardwood Floors, Hopeland, PA, had a client with a special requirement. Matt used ZipWall® KT-20 poles, with tape at the foot end of the pole, to span the living room ceiling. This prevented dust from ruining his clients' 17 hunting trophies mounted on the cathedral ceiling. Matt also used our poles to create a tunnel in a hall, and to isolate the kitchen.
